The Best Place To Find God Is In A Garden
Longing for peace and tranquility? In a hectic and stressful world of cultural misunderstandings, the mission of the Anderson Japanese Gardens, one of the most authentic Japanese Gardens in the world, is to "open minds to a different culture while offering guests a place of peace and tranquility where they will find healing, renewal, inspiration, and a re-energized soul."
You will be welcomed with an introduction to the serene atmosphere of the gardens by a docent before your self-guided walk of approximately one and one-half hours.
This is not a time to be rushed. Take time to enjoy the 50ft waterfall, plant life, wildlife, koi fish pond, teahouse, and fountains. There are benches for resting and reflecting.
Time to browse the unique gift shop in the Visitors' Center before leaving.
Later we make our way to Der Rathskeller Restaurant in Rockford for your included lunch. You will choose from four menu items (vegetarian option available) with chef's dessert, non-alcoholic beverage, tax & tip.
