APPLETON'S HOMETOWN BOY: Houdini Museum & Tour of Appleton Historic Sites Daytrip

Though he claimed Appleton as his birthplace, legendary magician Harry Houdini was born in Budapest, Hungary, in 1874. A step-on guide from the Museum at the Castle will give historical background of some of the people, places, events that shaped Appleton today. Learn why the Fox Valley is known as the Paper Valley and see where celebrities, such as Houdini, Edna Ferber, and Joseph McCarthy, called home. After the 1.5hour tour you will visit the History Museum at the Castle where interactive stations of some of Houdini's magic (shaking free of shackles or escaping from a straitjacket) can be explored.

Enjoy a delicious lunch at Pullman's Restaurant at Trolley Square, offering a view of the river along with a choice of sandwiches, sides, and beverage. There will be time to browse some of the "shops on the Avenue" before returning to Milwaukee.

$89 per person includes private motorcoach, step-on guide, admission to the History Museum at the Castle, Lunch with tax & tip.

Departure from Parking Lot H at 39th & Ohio PROMPTLY at 8:30 AM. Return Alverno at 5:30 PM.
