JOURNEY WITH SPIRIT: OUR LADY OF GOOD HELP SHRINE, SAINT FRANCIS XAVIER CATHEDRAL & PRO SHOP AT LAMBEAU, Green Bay Daytrip
Friday, September 25, 2015, 8AM to 5:30 PM
Refresh your spirit as you travel today to Green Bay for a privately-guided tour of the Romanesque-style St Francis Xavier Cathedral, modeled on the Ludwigkirche in Munich, Germany. The church was established in 1851 and consecrated in 1881. The tour will include its museum. (A donation will be made on behalf of the group)
Spirits are cheered as we make a stop at the "hallowed ground" of Lambeau Field Atrium Pro-Shop, owned by the Green Bay Packers. You can't miss the newest Brett Favre items and Vince Lombardi statue in front of the stadium.
Irish spirits await at St Brendan's Inn Restaurant which offers traditional and hearty dishes which are 'wholesome for body and spirit.' You will have a choice of several entree options, including dessert and non-alcoholic beverage.
There is a special spirit about the Chapel of Our Lady of Good Help in Champion, the site of apparitions in 1859 to a young Belgian girl who saw a lady in white standing between two trees. The lady revealed herself to Adele Brise as the Queen of Heaven, giving her the mission of teaching religious instructions to the immigrant children. She told her not to fear and extended her blessing and protection. In 2010 Bishop Ricken of Green Bay gave official church approval of the apparitions after two years of Vatican investigation. You will visit the chapel, crypt, and grave of Sr. Adele. Religious items are sold at the nearby gift shop.
