A Grand Getaway on Mackinac Island
4- Day Motorcoach Tour
August 17-20, 2015
Wouldn't it be "grand" to wrap up summer with a getaway to the elegance and glamour of the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island? Picture yourself on the magnificent porch, evoking a bygone era, sipping your favorite beverage while looking out at the pristine blue waters of Mackinac Straits.
Horse and carriage rides, biking, touring historic Fort Mackinac, browsing the shops, tasting the fudge, golfing, swimming, playing croquet, walking the labyrinth, 5-course Dinners (gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and ladies dressy pant suit or dress), and dancing to the Grand Orchestra are some of the activities on beautiful Mackinac Island, which was the setting for two Hollywood films: "Somewhere In Time" and "This Time For Keeps," the Esther Williams film with the swimming pool built for her.
Departures from Alverno College & Bayshore Park & Ride.
Travel by private motorcoach to Manitowoc, WI, to board the SS Badger Ferry and cruise across Lake Michigan. Relax during the 4-hour crossing, have lunch, watch a movie, play bingo, watch the seagulls from the sun deck. Spend an overnight in Ludington, Michigan, before traveling to Traverse City and on to Mackinaw City for the ferry to Mackinac Island for a two-night stay at the Grand Hotel. Our return to Wisconsin is along the scenic shores of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with Lunch at Schloegel's Lakefront Restaurant before arriving in Milwaukee.
Tour Cost: $1,399 per person (sharing). $425 additional for Single Room.
